Why do I need to log in to the app before I can control the coop door?

You may miss the convenience of a traditional remote control: pick it up from the table, walk close to the coop door, press the down button, and the coop door rises.

Our coop door works very differently. You do not have to stand near the coop door; you can control it from across the city or even from another country.

This is possible because of the internet. When you tap the green button (open door button) on the device card, your open command routes through the internet, reaches your router at home, and then arrives at your coop door.

Because there are many coop doors around the country, the system needs a way to make sure Tom's open command is not received by Lily's coop door. That is why you need to log in before you can control your coop door.

By logging in, you identify yourself and claim that the door belongs to you, so the next time you push the green button, the command will only route to your coop door.
